On behalf of the Acadiana Amateur Radio Association, Inc., the club 
would like to extend our "THANKS" to all that made
the trip over to our Hamfest on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th of March.  
Without your attendance and support to our vendors and swap tables, and 
just making "eyeball contacts" with those we talk to on the radio, this 
and other Hamfests would not exist.

I understand (not official) our attendance was par or even better than 
last year.

We also want to thank Roland Ledet K5EUO for putting together the Cajun 
Band along with the players.  Also, thanks to the Rayne Lions Club for 
providing refreshments ( I think they sold out).

Winners of the Grand Prizes are:
1st - Icom 7200  HF Transceiver was Don Strodtman NJ5X of Broussard, 
Louisiana
2nd - Icom 208H 2 Meter Mobile was James Lyon N5UHN of Baton Rouge, 
Louisiana
3rd - Yaesu FT-250R 2 Meter Handi-talki was Bud Azar N5AN of Lafayette, 
Louisiana

Fox Hunt winner:
Joseph K. Comeaux, Jr. KI5EE of Lake Charles, Louisiana and his prize 
was a 100 raffle tickets.  BTW, the fox was
on the flagpole attached to the flag.

We will be having our March General Meeting this Saturday March 19th, at 
7:00 PM at the Red Cross Building, 101 N. Pat Street,
Scott, LA.  This is our "Hamfest Banquet", all are to bring a covered 
dish, the club will furnish the main entree and drinks.
*NO VE TESTING.*

We will install our new officers for 2011-2012, have a drawing for the 
HT to the lucky club member who attended meetings last year.
(Each time you attended a meeting and are a club member you got one 
ticket in the hat).  Also, the person that checked in on the
AARA Monday Night Net the most times during 2010, will receive a ARRL 
Radio Handbook.

As new Club President, I will officially take office and give some kind 
of agenda for the upcoming year.
