The AARA General Meeting for July 2015 will be held on July 2, 2015 at 7 
PM at the Red Cross Building, 101 N. Pat Street, Scott, Louisiana.
Main topic will be our Field Day Event, plus some other items are 
scheduled at this meeting.

VE Testing will take place at 6 PM.

*Field Day 2015*

Field day at the Horse Farm was wet,windy,and a good time! Because of 
the weather we were only able to operate just over half the time but we 
still made about the same number of contacts as last year. (still to be 
determined by final count at this time) After a stormy night we packed 
it in early on Sunday and had everyone and all equipment clear of the 
site by 1:30 PM on Sunday. I would like to thank all those who helped 
make it happen. I especially salute those brave souls that literally 
held down the fort on Saturday afternoon under the white tent. And i 
would add for those of vintage age that need it I have some Aleve! 73

Attention all Operators and Friends - Silent Key

     It is with sincere regret that I am sending this message regarding 
the passing of a fine Friend and Amateur Radio Operator, Mr Greg Babin / 
KD5IJE of Prairieville, Louisiana.......Information I have at this time 
is limited as far as exact time of death, but, we do know he died at 
home probably sometime late Wednesday evening or Thursday the 24th or 
25th of June 2015...At this time I have no information regarding funeral 
arrangements but once received I will pass it on...
