Just from my experience with what used to be Northeast Louisiana ARES Group. ??This makes *every* technician with a handy-tawky a "cop wanna-be" rather than a ham radio operator assisting emergency public servants."Served Agencies?" Who are they?Certainly not any taxpayer funded agencies. They are "service agencies."If a service agency needs assistance with communications, why are they trying to get "us" to do "their" jobs?

Are you interested in Emergency Communications and wanting to help local and state governments during emergencies? You must have proper training before you can be considered as a volunteer during emergency situations. The ACADIANA AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION, Inc will be sponsoring a training seminar Friday March 9, 2018 starting at 8:30am, covering ICS Courses 100, 200 & 700.
FEMA ICS* Training will be conducted at the Rayne Civic Center, 112 Frog Festival Drive, Rayne, Louisiana 70578, on Friday (8:30am til) before the AARA Hamfest for those interested in obtaining the required certifications. This course will be taught by Mr. Skip Breeden, Director of Emergency Operations for the LADOTD.
