Herman - this is an obituary of Brenner Waters who was active in the old 
Lafayette Amateur Radio Club.  His call was WB5VJR.
Ed Roy and I talked about remembering him being active probably in the 
1970's and 1980's or even later but not sure.
You might want to post it to the club reflector in case there are other 
old timers still around.

    Obituary for Brenner Stuart Edward Waters WB5VJR

A Masonic Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2021, 
in the Azalea Parlor at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand for Brenner 
Stuart Edward Waters, 84, who passed away on January 10, 2021.

Brenner was a veteran of the Army National Guard, a seaplane pilot, ham 
radio operator, and Freemason. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed 
being on the board of directors of the Oilman's Bass Classic. He was a 
joy to all who knew him, with a "dad joke" for anyone who would listen, 
and will be missed by many.

Brenner, a former resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, and late of 
Picayune, Mississippi, was the son of the late John Waters and the 
former Jane Ross.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Waters; two daughters, Elizabeth 
Waters (David Moser), and Amy Waters (Timothy Wilkerson); grandchildren, 
Maggie Gentile and Matthew Gentile; brothers, Michael J. E. Waters and 
Daniel R. E. Waters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Russell Charles 
Boe'.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral 
Home - Bertrand on Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
