*AARA General Meeting*
The Acadiana Amateur Radio Assoc., Inc. will hold their February General 
Meeting on Thursday February 10, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Red Cross 
Building, 101 N. Pat St., Scott, LA.  VE Testing will be at 6:00 PM.

This meeting will be election night for officers for 2011-2012 year.  
Nominations will be taken from the floor, election held, new officers 
will be installed at the meeting on the following Saturday after the 
AARA Rayne Hamfest March 11-12, 2011.  Hope to see you all there to take 
part and cast your vote.

Nick, will be holding a amateur radio demonstration at Paul Breaux 
Middle School on Thursday morning Feb 10th around 10:00 AM on the W5DDL 
146.820 repeater in Lafayette and would like volunteers to talk to the 
group.

*Children's Museum of Acadiana Ham Classes*

The Children's Museum of Acadiana (CMA) will start up classes for 
amateur radio Technician Class License starting on February 10, 2011 
focused on Middle Class School students and parents.
      The sessions will be over a eight week period with each session 
running about 1 1/2 hours in length. There will be lots of hands-on 
activities and those persons getting their license, a opportunity to 
purchase a hand-held radio for approximately $35.00 will be available.
      Interested parties should contact the Children's Museum of 
Acadiana for information and registration .
