Loren Keith Townsdin

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 
at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic 
Church for Loren Keith Townsdin, 74, who passed away peacefully on 
Monday, February 14, 2011 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by 
his family.

Entombment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Reverend Michael Russo, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 
will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral 
services. Lectors will be Jeff Townsdin and David Cross. Giftbearers 
will be Rachel Townsdin and Brittany Townsdin. Rachel Gaspard, vocalist, 
accompanied by Andre Courville, organist, will sing for the services, 
"Be Not Afraid", "I Have Loved You", "On Eagle's Wings", "Psalm 42" and 
"You Are Mine".

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sylvia C. Townsdin of Lafayette, LA; 
two daughters, Patricia "Patti" Townsdin of Broussard, LA and Jennifer 
Cross and her husband, David of Dallas, TX; two sons, Jeff Townsdin and 
his wife, Patricia of Lafayette, LA and Chris Townsdin of Carencro, LA; 
one sister, Karen Appel and her husband, Don of Great Bend, KS; one 
brother, Richard Townsdin and his wife, Pam of Dodge City, KS; eight 
grandchildren, Jonah Melancon, Abigail Greco, Aaron Townsdin, Evan 
Taylor, Rachel Townsdin, Brittany Townsdin, Mary Cross and Leanne Cross; 
and one great grandchild, Corbin Greco.

He was preceded in death by his parents Loren and Edith Harper Townsdin.

A native of Dodge City, Kansas and resident of Lafayette for over 40 
years, Mr. Townsdin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great 
grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He proudly served 
his country as a member of the United States National Guard. Mr. 
Townsdin completed communications school and worked in amateur radio 
communications for many years before his retirement. He loved 
woodworking in his shop and watching sports. Mr. Townsdin was a member 
of the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Community. He enjoyed spending 
time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who 
knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Jonah Melancon, Charles Ellis, Jeff Townsdin, Chris 
Townsdin, Evan Taylor and Mike Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be 
David Cross and Aaron Townsdin.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 6:30 PM in 
Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 4:00 PM 
to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of 
services.
