At the November General Meeting, a nominating committee was chosen to
approach perspective members for the
upcoming year 2012-2013. The committee consists of: Sandy KE5KJF, Paul
K5VSH, Archie W5AG and Larry KE5KJD (Chairperson). Club by-laws:

If you would like to volunteer for President, Vice President, Secretary,
Treasurer, or become a Board Member or maybe know of a
member you would like to recommend, contact one of the above committee
members.

The December General Meeting (Thursday, December 1, 2010) will be our
annual "Christmas Banquet". The club will furnish turkey and party size
boudin links and soft drinks. Members are asked to bring a covered
dish. This will be a "Eating & Fellowship" meeting.
NO VE TESTING. Due to Paula Romero being absent at the November
meeting, I will present her certificate and voucher for 15 door prize
tickets for next year's hamfest for her becoming 1st place winner in the
Technician Contest.

I received this e-mail from Mrs. Terry Turner of Paul Breaux Middle
School. I have added her class to my LARC mailing list.

Mr. Campbell,
Thanks for attending and helping with the fox hunt at the last club
meeting. I got the newsletter, it was a very nice article. We are also
putting it in our parent newsletter at school.
The next club meeting is on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 2:45. Nick said he
would be out of town, but that you would be able to help. I am thinking
about doing something with Radiograms. Let me know if you can help.
I'm thinking we could divide the kids into 4 groups. Group A writes a
short radiogram -Group B transmits this message to Group C who
disburses message to Group D. Then we can reverse roles. Please let me
know if you can help with the meeting and if you think this idea would
work or if you have a better idea.
Terry Turner

Anyone wanting to help let Herman know.

Hi,

I saw Acadiana ARA Inc on the<http://arrl.org/> arrl.org web site. Could
you please pass the following along to your members?
------------------------------------------------
Wardenclyffe, Nikola Tesla's last laboratory will be on the air November 5th
as special event station W3T! Wardenclyffe is located in Shoreham, NY on
Long Island. W3T is part of a network of special event stations that are
helping to raise awareness for the effort to purchase the laboratory and
restore it into a science museum. To read more about the effort to restore
Wardencyffe, please check outhttp://www.teslasciencecenter.org. The other
stations in the network are N3Y which will transmit via satellite and
possibly HF from the New Yorker Hotel, Tesla's last home in Manhattan, and
YU0TESLA which will transmit on 20m as well as other HF bands from the Tesla
Museum in Belgrade. For the latest updates on what frequencies to catch the
stations on and a sneak peek at the QSL cards and QTHs, go to
http://copaseticflows.appspot.com/teslaevent.

If you're in the Shoreham area on the 5th, please stop by the station!

Also, be sure to check out the Radio Central Amateur Radio Club. They will
have the Marconi radio shack on the air a few miles away transmitting as a
special event station commemorating the 90th anniversary of the opening of
the RCA transmitting antenna farm in Rocky Point, NY. More details are
available athttp://www.rcarc.org/. Without the RCA club W3T would not be
on the air. Their help has been invaluable!

And, this just in, we are proud to announce that one more historic station
will be on the air with us on the 5th of November, the Police Athletic
League Amateur Radio Club of Yonkers, NY, a mere few meters from the site of
the first FM transmission 66 years ago on November 5th of 1935 will be on
the air with same call sign as the historic station: W2XAG.

If you have any questions, or you'd like to help out, please feel free to
contact me athcarter333 at gmail.com.
