The wife of one of our local Lafayette hams, Jess Gillion KF5LUL, passed 
away Monday February 6, 2012.  Jess is a member
of the Acadiana Amateur Radio Association, Inc. and has been pretty 
active on 2 meters and HF.  We ask you to keep Jess and
Family in your prayers.

    Obituary for Isabel Vega Gillion


/Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at a 1:00 
PM Memorial Mass in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Isabel 
Vega Gillion, 34, who passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012.

Inturnment will be in St. John Cemetery.

Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels 
Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Memorial Mass and will 
conduct the services. Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector of Cathedral of 
St. John the Evangelist, will con celebrate. The Giftbearers will be 
Andrew and Alex Billeaud and the Lectors will be Tara Dantin and Tammy 
Bernard.

Melody Thibodaux, accompanied on the organ by Tom Niel, will sing for 
the Memorial Mass "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 23", "Ave Maria", "Hail Mary, 
Gentle Woman" and "Couer de Jesus".

Survivors include her husband, Jess G. Gillion of Lafayette, LA; one 
daughter, Helen Grace Katja Gillion of Lafayette, LA; her father, Adrian 
M. Vega, Jr. and his wife, Mary Catherine of Lafayette, LA; one sister, 
Christa Vega Billeaud and her husband, Chip Billeaud and their children, 
Andrew and Alexander Billeaud of Broussard, LA; four brothers, Adrian 
Vega III, and Carlos Vega of Lafayette, LA, Zachariah Brasseaux and his 
wife, Jennifer of Chino, CA and Blake Adrian M. Vega of Lafayette, LA.; 
her in-laws, John and Sharron Gillion of Augusta, GA; her brother 
in-laws, Joe Gillion and his wife, Eleanora, of Augusta, GA and Jack 
Gillion and his wife, Viola, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Krieg Vega.

Isabel Vega Gillion was born on August 4, 1977 in Lafayette, Louisiana. 
She attended the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau and also 
USL (now U.L.L.) in Lafayette. Isabel served as a volunteer at Cathedral 
Carmel School for many years. She loved spending time with her family 
and friends, especially her husband and her daughter whom she loved and 
cherished. Isabel will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Vega III, Carlos Vega, Chip 
Billeaud, Andrew Billeaud, Alexander Billeaud, Joe Gillion and Jack Gillion.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 6:30 PM in 
Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday, February 
8, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday, February 
9, 2012 from 11:00 AM until time of services.
