AARA August General Meeting - The August General Meeting will be held on 
Thursday, August 2nd at 7:00 PM at the Red Cross Building, 101 N. Pat
Street, Scott, Louisiana.  Guest speakers will be Steve Irving WA5FKF of 
the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Red Cross addressing our club on 
assisting the
Red Cross during and after disasters.  Sandy LeBlanc KE5KJF will talk 
about the upcoming "Tour du Teche Canoe Race" taking place in October.  
Sandy
and hubby Larry KE5KJD are coordinators for the ham radio team that will 
assist during this three day event.  So this should be a very 
interesting meeting.
Glen Thibodeaux KF5FNP is in charge of refreshments.  Door Prizes available.
Hope to see you there!
Also, we may have a large turnout for the 6:00 PM VE Test Session 
(around 10) so, if you arrive early for the meeting, *keep the noise 
level down please*.

Colleagues:

Just reminding those of you in the midsection of North America that the Central Area
Night Watch commences operations Wednesday, August 1 at 0100 UTC.  For those of us in
this part of the world, that's Tuesday evening, and will endeavor to maintain ops until
0500 UTC.

All legal traffic welcome.  any traffic that must be relayed or stored and forwarded
must be formal written traffic.

Reps from regular Cycle 4 nets not finding outlets for traffic are encouraged to seek
outlets on central area night watch, or to briefly check canw for traffic that they might
handle during regular scheduled cycle 4 nets, when/if possible.

*Frequency:*   Anywhere between 3810 khz and the bottom of the general class sub-band.
