NRA's 141^th Birthday
Special Event Operation
November 17, 2012

The Yavapai Amateur Radio Club will operate a special event station
November 17, 2012, in celebration of the NRA's 141^st birthday. The
station will operate from the Gunsite Academy's 2,000-acre campus north
of Prescott, AZ. The special event call sign will be K7NRA, an
FCC-licensed amateur radio station. It will conduct operations on the
following amateur frequencies from 1500Z to 2400Z. The event will
operate on 7.250, 14.050, 14.250 and 21.335 MHz. A unique NRA/Gunsite
certificate will be provided to those stations contacted during the
event. QSL to:

YARC,

PO Box 11994

Prescott, AZ 86304

All amateur stations, especially those operated by NRA members and
Gunsite alumni, are urged to participate.

Directions:

Operations are at K7GST's (Buz Mills) shack in his large garage. Buz's
address is 3300 West Ravengard Road.

Take Rt. 89 north from Prescott to Rolling Hills Rd. (at about the 335
1/4 mile mark). Turn west on Rolling Hills Rd. and then turn right at
the top of the rise (you'll see a small Gunsite sign with the raven on
it) and follow the road to Gunsite. After entering through the Gunsite
gate, stay on the road and bear left (actually, straight ahead) instead
of turning right into the Gunsite main facility when you come to it.
Stay on this road to 3300 (well marked). Turn right at the 3300 marker
following the lane to the gate. Press the call button at this gate and
it will be opened (It may already be open.). The barn is under the big
tower at the top of the hill. Drive through the gate and straight up the
hill to the barn.

Be aware that the speed limit on Rolling Hills Rd. is only 25 mph and it
is reported the police keep an eye on speeders. It is too easy to drive
faster than that, as it is a rural paved road.
