* NEW ORLEANS AREA*

The JARC VEC, of the 14 VEC's recognized in the US by the FCC,
sponsors VE sessions at the Jefferson Amateur Radio Club facility in the
Wally Pontiff Playground, Metairie Louisiana. These sessions are given
on the the 3^rd Monday of odd numbered months at 6:30PM and the
2^nd Saturday of even numbered months at 8:30 AM. We stagger these
sessions so that anyone who works on weekends can have an opportunity
to take the test on weekday evenings.

For those of you who find a Northshore opportunity more to your liking, we
Test on the second Sunday of every month at the Washington Parish
Communications Center in Sheridan (Franklinton) Louisiana, at 4:00 PM.

JARC VEC sessions occur with the exceptions of natural disasters or
holidays falling on the same day. Sessions are open to all who wish to
upgrade or for new applicants. Fee is $13.00 per application. Walk-ins
welcome, no pre-registration is necessary! Copy of current Amateur
license or most recent CSCE, a VALID PHOTO ID, and SSN or FRN (which
is obtainable by going to:

http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/index.htm?job=about_getting_started#d36e21)

An FRN helps keep your SSN secure. There is no charge for this service
from the FCC.
We process your results with the FCC on the first business day after
your successful
Completion of Examination and Call signs or upgrades are typically
published by the FCC online Universal Licensing System information page
within hours, giving you the opportunity to use your new priveleges.

Wishing you success in your Amateur Radio career.
