*Calling All Hams* (and even those not licensed).
A “*Fox*” (hidden radio transmitter) has been spotted in the Eastern
part of St.Tammany Parish.
Several sightings have been reported within 3 miles of the Ozone Amateur
Radio Club's Emergency Operation Center in Slidell. Some have reported
being able to hear this sneaky fellow cry out on a pretty regular basis.
Everyone is invited to head out on /*Saturday, February 13, 2021*/ in an
attempt to track down and locate the “*Fox*”. Check-in will begin on the
147.270 repeater (+0.6 MHz) at about 9:50 am. Once everyone is checked
in, the most recent area that the “*Fox*” has been spotted will be given
and the hunt will begin. The hunt will commence at 10 am and end by 2
pm, or earlier if all the hunters have found the “*Fox*” . The first
four hunters that successfully find the fox will have their choice of
some small rewards.
Please remember to socially distance yourself during the hunt. With
COVID-19 restrictions still in place, there will be no official
in-person gathering during the hunt. You are more than welcomed to team
up with other members of your household though. This hunt is open to
anyone, including non-ham radio operators, since it requires one to only
receive and not transmit a signal.
I'm looking forward to a good turnout and, if there's enough interest,
I'll hide a “*Fox*” at least once a month for everyone to hunt. I hope
to move around the Northshore and also the Southshore in an attempt to
give as many people as possible a chance to participate.

There will not be any official spot to meet beforehand so that everyone
can socially distance themselves from each other. As long as you're on
the 147.270 +600 repeater around 9:45 am that morning, I'll give out all
the information needed.
The frequency for the fox transmitter will be 146.565 Simplex
Let me know if you have any other questions.
