*Here are a few comments received from the ADXA Hamfest & Swapmeet
held in Rayne, LA on March 11, 2023

Well, everyone, after a good night's sleep, We have final thouoghts
about the
hamfest on Saturday.

We would like to thank James Romero, K5CNU and Ken Turner, KG5YYL, for
ALL the
hard work that started the last quarter of last year in producing a long
awaited
hamfest in Rayne. The Doubting Thomases were very doubtful in the
beginning,
But James and Ken have bent over backward to help those wanting tables, and
worked above and beyond the call in going to other events. completing a
lot of p;aper work necessary in order for this to happen, and trying to
line up
vendors for our event. Thanks to those who worked the entrance and sold
tickets
and especially to the Scouts who opened the event, cooked the jambalaya
and helped pick
up all the tables once it was over.

What else can we say but /*THANK YOU */and a job well done, hope to see
you next year.  73

A large crowd in attendance for the reboot of the Rayne Hamfest. Frog
City was jumping again!
Great to see our friends in the area after a two-year hiatus. The
Acadiana DX Association did a
great job assuming the helm on this one and putting it together on short
notice!

I think you and James did a fantastic job. It's a good thing that you
guys didn't allow it to slip into obscurity. Keeping it simple makes it
easy to find help, something that the club should probably have
considered before letting it get away. Good luck next year!
